things I’m loving lately

I feel like I haven’t written a “favourites” post in a while (although it’s probably only been a month) so I thought I’d use this opportunity to share one. I’ve just moved back to Edinburgh so there are a fair few nods to that in this post as I find my student footing again 🙂

First things first: Etsy. I love this place. You can find absolutely anything and it’s a great way to support small sellers and independent businesses online. Plus, it’s been a lifesaver whilst moving into a new flat and decorating my room. Prints, posters, other random bits and bobs… I love it all.

Happier than ever

I am obsessed with Billie Eilish’s new album! There’s literally not a song that I don’t like. I can’t choose my favourite either… so if you haven’t already checked her album out, do it now. You’re in for a treat!

Bumping into friends

Having not properly been in Edinburgh since December 2020, it’s been so nice finding my feet here again and unexpectedly bumping into friends in the most random of places. With (almost) all restrictions lifted here in Scotland, we can now have a chat and catch up without having to worry about Covid rules. Honestly, I’m loving being back.

meeting new friends

I feel like everyone can relate when I say Covid has limited my socialising with new people. However, since being back in Edinburgh, I’ve already met up with a couple of new people and it’s been wonderful. It reminds you that we really are social beings and we crave this sort of variety in our social lives. This is your sign to go for coffee with that person you’ve been thinking of asking to meet 😉

Second hand bookshopping

Now that my courses are out and I know my reading lists, I’ve been hitting up the second hand bookshops here in Edinburgh and I’ve found some steals. Full price books are expensive and it all adds up when you have to buy 15-20 of them! Plus, as a student, every little helps – am I right or am I right?

I bought my uni gym membership when I arrived and have finally got myself back in the pool. The slots are quite limited and get booked up quickly but I’ve managed to book myself a few and went for the first time in 8 months last Wednesday. It was so lovely and reminded me how much I love it!

my window

I’m lucky enough to have a south-facing window and have a newfound appreciation for what this means for me. The amount of sunlight I get (and just natural light in general) is dreamy and I am so grateful! It really does put me in such a good mood.

richmond meat-free sausages

Move aside Linda McCartney Veggie Sausages, there’s a new saus on the block. If you haven’t yet tried the Richmond Meat-Free Sausages then what have you been doing?! Just kidding, but they are excellent. My non-vegan parents and uni friends agree, so that’s all the convincing you should need 😉 They went down a treat at our BBQ on the beach in Brighton!

That’s it for today! Sending you all so much love <3
